I posted this question in the UBB support forum, but I was directed to ask in this forum, so here goes:

I wanted to identify who closes a post, and was given some code that places the username next to the lock box after a post is closed. However, on a few posts, it says "closed by [name]" and the screenname listed as the closer was not actually the person to do so. Rather, it is the last person to have replied to the thread.

Could this be caused by a person responding to the thread while it is being closed?

Did you install a hack for this so it would show you who closed the thread?

Yes, in the ubb_library2.pl file, we changed

Topic Closed

to

Topic Closed by $UserName

On most occasions, the name displayed as the closer is correct, but there have been more than a few instances of the incorrect name being displayed. Namely the last person to reply to the thread. Just wondering what could've caused this, and if anything can be done to correct it.
